ABOUT
I am Laurence Stirling Knott a voiceover artist, musician and artist, best known for narrating various videos on the Uncast YouTube channel and as the voices of Egite, Alex, Chompers and the Slaver Captain in the Gareth and the Lost Island audio drama.

Growing up in the West Midlands of the United Kingdom, descending from a line of brass musicians, I was surrounded by music and media throughout my childhood. As a child, I had a strong passion for films and video games and dreamt of being an actor or composer, often imagining myself in various fantastic scenarios whilst I listened to my favourite film scores! At 15 years old, I started teaching myself to play the guitar, developing a deep passion for music and solidifying my desire to compose music.
In 2016, aged 16, I began my journey into the professional world of music by enrolling into a Music Performance course at Stafford College. I performed in several bands at venues such as the O2 Academy 3, composed music, learnt how to use studios, equipment and Digital Audio Workstations and increased my knowledge of music theory and the music business. During and shortly after this time, I performed around Staffordshire as a guitarist in the band Kymera, as well as a few individual one off performances as a bass guitarist in other bands.
Upon graduating in 2018, I enrolled into the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM), Birmingham, undertaking a Professional Musicianship course. Here, I expanded my knowledge and skills with the help of incredibly talented industry professionals, learning invaluable knowledge about performance practices, recording practices, the business side of the music industry and deep levels of music theory and analysis. With the help of one of my tutors, I also found my desire to act returned in the form of voice overs!
I’ve since narrated many videos for the Uncast YouTube channel and provided several file readings for the First Aid Spray Podcast. I am also the voice of several characters, in audio dramas, YouTube videos and video game modifications. Such characters include Egite, Alex, Chompers and the Slaver Captain in Gareth and the Lost Island, Harper in The Doctor Who Audio Dramas' The Last Stand, Jeeves in the Halo: Combat Eclipsed Demo Beta and Carmine Falcone in Red&Blue Productions' BATMAN: Red Lie [Part 2] !

I also composed the music for the opening cutscene of the Halo: Combat Eclipsed Demo Beta, though I of course cannot and would not take credit for the aspects of the music that originally came from legendary video game composers Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori, such as the inclusion of iconic phrases and progressions from the soundtracks of the Halo series.
